People said God created the world in 6 days, and on the 7th day God created Rio. Rio is so good that Portuguese king once made Rio the capital of Portugal. In the famous film Rio was called "the city of God" (Cidade de Deus). The massive statue of Christ the Redeemer (Cristo Redentor) stands on the peak of Corcovado mountain, opens its arms to welcome tourists from all over the world. But what is the other side of the city of God where even the mercy of God would not reach? Favela (Portuguese name for slum) hides within the valleys, where is pested by crimes and drugs, just like what was depicted in the film.
